The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare has raised concern over increasing deaths caused by hospitals refusing to treat gunshot victims without a police report. This violates the Gunshot Act 2017, which mandates that all hospitals—public or private—must treat gunshot victims immediately, with or without police clearance. Key points: Hospitals must treat gunshot victims as emergencies. Police reports are not required before treatment. Security agents and individuals must assist in getting victims to hospitals. The Ministry is implementing strategies to ensure compliance. The police are urged to support enforcement and reassure hospitals that providing such treatment is legal.
